Amir appoints Sheikh Thamer Jaber as head of HH Crown Prince Diwan

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: An Amiri decree has been issued appointing Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as Head of His Highness the Crown Prince’s Diwan, with a rank of minister, for a four-year term as of September 1, 2025. Sheikh Thamer’s profile is as follows: He was born in 1971, and he holds a certificate of military sciences from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in London and a bachelor’s degree in political sciences from the United States. He served as an officer at the Ministry of Defense’s intelligence and military security field from 1991 to 1994. He served at the Ministry of Interior’s state security department from 1994 to 2000. In 2000, a decree was issued appointing him as assistant undersecretary of His Highness the Crown Prince’s technical bureau. In 2003, Sheikh Thamer was named deputy chief of the Citizens’ Service Bureau and the Government Performance Follow-up Agency, affiliated to the Cabinet in 2003. Under two decrees, Sheikh Thamer was named as Kuwait’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in 2012 and Bahrain in 2019. He was chief of some government committees, including the secondment and transfer commission among government bodies in 2005, the team tasked with preparing reports of the State Audit Bureau in 2003, and the standing commission to carry out the government action programs in 2006.

In addition, he was head of the teams for developing control of leadership selection in government agencies 2005 and following up the implementation of recommendations of the State Audit Bureau’s report regarding financial spending related to His Highness the Prime Minister’s Diwan in 2008. In 2008, Sheikh Thamer was head of the investigation team into the citizenship case. He is married and has got three children (KUNA)
