KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: The concerned government agencies are studying the possibility of transforming the Amghara scrapyard from an industrial zone to a residential area by including it in the South Saad Al-Abdullah Residential City project, reports Al-Rai daily, quoting sources. Sources stated that “the relevant government agencies have restarted talks on the proposal to allocate the Amghara scrapyard to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW). One of the important drivers for renewing this proposal is that it became more realistic after overcoming the main obstacle to implementing this step, that is, finding an alternative site for investors in the scrapyard. This was achieved after it was decided to relocate the investors to the new Na’ayem Industrial City.” Sources confirmed that the concerned government entities’ coordination is underway to take the necessary measures to incorporate the scrapyard into the South Saad Al-Abdullah Residential City project. They added that all aspects of the proposal will be studied — housing, economic, and development.
