The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kuwait Mohammad Totonji

KUWAIT CITY, June 16: Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohammad Totonji, praised the principled position of Kuwait’s leadership, particularly His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for condemning the recent attacks on civilian areas. He emphasized that Iran was not the initiator of the aggression, which he described as a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter.

Speaking at a press conference at the Iranian Embassy on Monday, Ambassador Totonji stated that the attacks were intended to disrupt diplomatic efforts and escalate regional tensions.

He also reassured that there are no issues concerning Kuwaiti citizens currently in Iran. “The return of Kuwaiti nationals to their country is proceeding smoothly via land borders, and there are no citizens stranded,” he confirmed. Additionally, he noted that an agreement had been reached between Kuwaiti and Iraqi authorities to facilitate their safe return.
