KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6, (Agencies): The recent discovery of a Delta variant case — a citizen who came from Turkey — raised the alarm among the health authorities in terms of tightening procedures for testing arriving passengers to prevent the entry of any other coronavirus variant into the country, reports Al-Qabas daily. Chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Combating Corona Dr Khaled Al-Jarallah disclosed the abovementioned case was discovered when the PCR test result of the passenger came out, showing infection with the Delta variant. He affirmed all the necessary measures, including isolation, have been taken. The Health Ministry announced on Monday that it launched a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination center in the northern Abdali area with the capacity to immunize 2,000 individuals per day.
