RIYADH, Nov 10: The Kuwait national handball team has begun training at the Handball Federation Center in Al-Da’iya ahead of the Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in Saudi Arabia.

The Blues will open their tournament campaign on Friday against Bahrain, face Iraq on Sunday, and wrap up the preliminary round against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Team director Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi said last week’s training camp in Tunisia has already produced positive results, both physically and tactically, despite minor injuries to players such as Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, Saleh Al-Mousawi, Abdullah Al-Khamis, and Abdulaziz Salmeen.

Al-Zaabi stressed that the team is always committed to raising Kuwait’s flag and name internationally, regardless of tournament challenges.

He noted that the camp effectively enhanced players’ fitness and readiness, preparing the squad for tough matches ahead. The Islamic Solidarity Games, he added, will provide valuable experience for the team, especially with the Asian Championship set to take place in Kuwait this January.

Al-Zaabi also commended the players’ dedication and the efforts of the technical and administrative staff, highlighting their teamwork and commitment to representing Kuwait with pride on the global stage.
