CAIRO, Aug 26: The Board of Directors of Al-Sulaibikhat Club has approved a two-week training camp in Cairo, Egypt, for the first basketball team, beginning in early September. The camp will feature four friendly matches against leading Egyptian league teams as part of the squad’s preparation for the new season.

Head coach Fahad Burjas confirmed that the club has strengthened its roster with the addition of Iranian forward Salar Monji and American guard Mikey Dixon. Monji (2.04m), who previously played for Al-Arabi, is expected to be a major asset with his height and technical skills, while Dixon’s impressive performances last season earned him a contract renewal.

To further bolster the team, Al-Sulaibikhat also signed Abdulrahman Al-Sahool from Al-Arabi and promising youngster Mohammad Al-Dahes from Al-Jahra.

Burjas stated that the club’s ambition this season is to break into the Final Four and challenge for the top positions. “For the past three years, we have finished fifth in the league and fourth in the Cup. This year, we have intensified preparations to develop the squad and compete seriously for a place among the top three,” he said.

He expressed his gratitude to the club’s management for their strong support, noting that the external training camp and the recruitment of high-level professionals will have a significant impact on the team’s performance in the new season.
