ALEXANDRIA, Oct 7: Al-Qadsiya Club's first basketball team secured its fourth consecutive victory in the 36th Arab Basketball Clubs Championship, currently taking place in Alexandria, with a 92-80 win over Qatar's Al-Gharafa at Burj Al Arab Hall. This victory brought Al-Qadsiya’s tally to eight points, placing them at the top of Group Two.
The "Sons of Hawally" dominated the game from the start, leveraging the experience and determination of their star players, who were committed to maintaining their strong performance in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Kazma, the second representative of Kuwaiti basketball in the championship, suffered a 56-76 defeat against Qatar’s Al-Arabi in Group One. This marked Kazma’s third loss, following defeats to Egypt's Al-Ittihad Alexandria and Smouha, leaving them with five points. However, Kazma still has a chance to qualify for the quarter-finals if they win their match against Sharjah of the UAE, which took place last evening.
The tournament teams are taking a break today, with the quarter-finals scheduled to begin tomorrow. The semi-finals will follow on Thursday evening, and the championship final is set for Saturday night.
