Players vie for the ball during the Gulf Champions League match between Al-Qadsia and Al-Sitra.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: Al-Qadsia continues to struggle in the Gulf Champions League, managing only a 0-0 draw against Bahrain’s Al-Sitra in Round 3 at Khalifa Sports City Stadium. The result gave the team its first point in the group after losses to Iraq’s Zakho (1-3) and UAE’s Al-Ain (0-1), leaving them in fourth place, while Al-Sitra rose to third with two points.

Zakho tops the group with seven points after a 2-0 win over Al-Ain, who dropped to second with six points.

Al-Qadsia faces a tough path to the semifinals, needing wins in all three remaining matches, including the crucial Round 4 clash with Al-Sitra on December 23. Even then, qualification also depends on Zakho or Al-Ain dropping points in two of their remaining games.

The team showed limited performance for most of the match, with many experienced and foreign players absent during key periods. Performance improved slightly after the younger players were introduced late in the second half.
