KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: In the upcoming basketball showdown at Al-Ittihad Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex, Al-Qadisiya will face Al-Tadamon today at 5:00 pm. The game is expected to be relatively straightforward for Al-Qadisiya, who currently tops the standings with 21 points, facing Al-Tadamon with 12 points, in the fourth round of the second division of the Basketball League. Following this match, another intense face-off is set between Al-Sulaibikh at and Al-Nasr at 7:00 pm in the same hall.The league format comprises two sections, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals after the conclusion of the second section.
Under the guidance of American coach Stebbingen, Al-Qadisiya is well-positioned for success, having secured a substantial qualification percentage. The team, led by standout players such as Mohsen Mortada, Muhammad Ashkanani, Abdullah Tawfiq, and the American Lowry, enters the game with added motivation following a significant 88-82 victory over Kazma last Thursday.
In the second match, fourth-placed Sulaibikhat, boasting 19 points, aims to maintain its impressive performance under the coaching of Fahd Barjas and secure another victory to stay in contention for the coveted fourth place. On the flip side, Al-Nasr, entering the game with 15 points, seeks redemption after a substantial loss in the last round against Al-Kuwait. The competition for the fourth spot, crucial for advancing to the semi-finals, is fierce between Al-Arabi and Al-Sulaibikhat, making every match crucial, a factor that Al-Sulaibikhat will be keenly aware of in today's matchup.
