KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Al-Fahaheel will host Al-Qadisiya at 7:55 PM at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium, marking the conclusion of the seventh round of the championship group competitions in the Zain Premier League.

Tonight’s match will be the sixth encounter between the two teams this season, with Al-Qadisiya emerging victorious in all previous encounters. It secured wins over Al-Fahaheel with scores of 3-0, 2-1, and 5-2 in the league, eliminated them from the Prince’s Cup with a 2-1 victory, and also triumphed in the Crown Prince Cup with a 5-4 win on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

Currently occupying third place in the standings with 50 points, Al-Qadisiya is eager to bounce back after a draw against Al-Salmiya in the last round, which has slightly dampened its title aspirations, now trailing the leader Kuwait Club by 7 points.

Coach Muhammad Al-Mishaan is determined to uplift the spirits of his players with a victory tonight, aiming to fine-tune the team’s performance ahead of the Amir Cup final against Al-Salmiya on May 21st. However, he acknowledges the challenge posed by Al-Fahaheel, a team that has proven to be a formidable opponent to league leaders.

On the flip side, Al-Fahaheel, currently fifth in the standings with 27 points, is keen to halt its recent string of losses in the last three rounds against Al-Kuwait, Al-Arabi, and Al-Salmiya, all ending with a 2-0 scoreline.

Under the guidance of its Syrian coach, Firas Al-Khatib, Al-Fahaheel aims to secure a positive outcome tonight and stay in contention for the fourth-place spot. It hopes to capitalize on its opponent’s current situation and secure its first victory over Al-Qadisiya this season, despite the absence of several key players due to injury.
