Kuwait honors shooters for their brilliance at the Arab Championships.

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: President of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, Duaij Al-Otaibi, praised the exceptional achievements of Kuwait’s male and female shooters at the recent Arab Shotgun and Air Rifle Championships in Egypt and the 14th Arab Archery Championship in Tunisia.

After an official ceremony honoring the national team, Al-Otaibi highlighted the athletes’ impressive haul: 13 medals in Egypt (7 gold and 6 bronze) and 5 medals in Tunisia (3 silver and 2 bronze).

He attributed the success to the unwavering support of Kuwait’s political leadership, noting that shooting in Kuwait proudly hosts prestigious events such as His Highness the Amir’s Grand International Championship and opens its season with the annual His Highness the Crown Prince Championship. He emphasized that such royal patronage has played a vital role in the remarkable progress of the sport.

Al-Otaibi also expressed gratitude for the continued backing from Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, and the Public Authority for Sports. He reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to building on this momentum in future competitions.

He added that what makes this achievement particularly special is the emergence of several young and promising shooters who contributed to the medal tally—an encouraging sign for the future of Kuwaiti shooting. He congratulated all the athletes who triumphed in the two tournaments.

Meanwhile, Obaid Al-Osaimi, Secretary-General of the Kuwait Shooting Federation, echoed these sentiments, stating that the recognition motivates shooters to strive for greater success in upcoming events. He dedicated the victories to Kuwait’s leadership and the entire shooting community.

Al-Osaimi also noted that the Federation is diligently preparing the national team for future championships, crediting the efforts of the coaching, administrative, and technical staff in supporting athletes to excel on the international stage.
