The honored athletes display their certificates.

KUWAIT CITY, June 12: The Al-Nasr Club’s weightlifting team held a ceremony to honor the “Weightlifting” athletes for securing second place in the first Independence Championship. This was the weightlifter's first appearance since the team was formed less than a year ago. The honored athletes are Hadeel Al-Shammari, Fatima Al-Awadi, Amal Al-Sharifi, Anfal Al-Muzain, Haya Al-Sharhan, Abrar Al-Fahd, and Haya Al-Mayass.

Ahmed Al-Adwani, Director of Weightlifting at Al-Nasr Club, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors for their ongoing support and interest in weightlifting. He emphasized that the women's achievement did not come by chance but was the result of significant effort by the Board of Directors, specifically Sultan Al-Mutairi, the technical and administrative staff, and the players over the past year.

Al-Adwani highlighted that honoring the female athletes was well-deserved, given their impressive accomplishment of securing second place in the first women’s weightlifting championship within such a short time frame.

Abrar Al-Fahd remarked on the team’s rapid formation and success, achieving runner-up position in the first Al-Istiqlal Women’s Championship. She thanked her fellow athletes, the technical and administrative staff, and the club’s management for their support.

“Our ambition is great,” she added, “Our goal is to place first in Kuwait and to compete in the Arab and West Asian championships.”

Al-Nasr Club’s weightlifting coach, Hussein Saeed, also expressed his happiness with the “Annabi Women” securing second place in the Independence Championship. He thanked the players for their full commitment to training and their honorable performance in the tournament.
