ISTANBUL, Aug 23: Al-Nasr suffered a 1-3 defeat against UAE side Fujairah in its opening friendly of the preseason training camp in Turkey.
The team will play its second friendly against Saudi Arabia’s Al-Raed in Turkey the day after tomorrow, before wrapping up its warm-up matches against Al-Orouba on August 29.
Al-Nasr is gearing up for the new Zain Premier League, which kicks off on September 12 with a season opener against defending champion Kuwait Club. The club has strengthened its squad with several local additions, including Mishal Khaled, Mohsen Falah, Mohammed Al-Rashed, Zaid Zakaria, Fawaz Al-Mubailesh, and goalkeeper Naif Al-Azmi.
Contracts were also renewed for the team’s five foreign professionals: Hussam Al-Habbasi, Tunisian Heikal Al-Sheikhawi, Libyan; Moatasem Al-Lafi, French Haikel Jekhail, and Serbian Nemanja Kojzik.
