KUWAIT CITY, March 7: Young writer Mohammed Al-Nashmi revealed he is writing a set of episodes of the variety program on ‘Cinemas’ to be shown during next Ramadan, which will be produced by Al-Salam Media Group, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Nashmi explained he was not ready to provide dramas for Ramadan this year, as it is always preferable not to engage in any dramatic work, unless there is a new idea, indicating there is a significant decrease in the number of dramas produced during this season.

Al-Nashmi says, “this decline favors of the artistic movement, as there will be more interest in the content and we will see scenarios of intellectual and social value that serve the viewer.” And “I consider this due to lack of interest during production seasons, as happens in Egypt and all countries of the world due to the fact that the majority of those in the drama industry are not professional but are amateurs, including the writers, so we go to work in the morning and then return in the evening to write some of scenes, noting that the large technical companies, unlike other places where they work full time and everyone participates.

Speaking of the satellite channels, Al-Nashmi indicated the satellite channels earlier had committees to read texts and choose good works, but now it is all about business and does not care about anything else, so we now see these stations don’t have a passion for business as before.

Al-Nashmi however did not disclose details about his new dramatic work. In the meantime, singer Abbas Al-Badri during a phone call told the Al-Anba daily that he is currently ‘sleeping in the street’, specifically in his car, after his relatives in Fintas abandoned him, reports the daily.

Al-Badri asked if it is reasonable that there are people who treat their relative in this way, especially since he is considered one of the pioneers of the Kuwaiti song, where he presented for more than half a century 200 songs, including ‘Khaleeji’ and ‘Ghali Ghaly’, ‘Ask me’ and ‘Hey Asheer lost it’ and ‘Taq O Matar Taq’ and other songs
