Al Kout concludes celebrations to mark arrival of 2018

‘RHAPSODY’ hailed as great success along with other entertainment activities

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: Souq Al Kout, part of the Al Kout project, Kuwait’s largest waterfront retail and leisure destination, concluded its recent celebrations that marked the arrival of the new year amid a large number of visitors that included families and children who enjoyed live musical entertainment held under the theme of ‘RHAPSODY’ as well as a broad array of interactive activities that were held from the Dec 29th to the 31st 2017. Souq Al Kout, for the 4th consecutive year, was the center of New Year celebrations across the State of Kuwait, with ‘RHAPSODY’ attracting a large number of visitors.

The musical event was launched on the Dec 31st, where visitors enjoyed a nostalgic drive from past to present, in a fun filled environment that included a rich range of melodies and musical shows that were performed live by Afterthought band and Omar Afuni, as well as the Kuwaiti band ‘Nujoum’ and Suyouf Al-Sham Musical Group who presented a unique Syrian folklore show.

The event ended with a spectacular fireworks performance at midnight, welcoming 2018 in a fun filled and happy spirit. Visitors also enjoyed other entertainment activities that were held throughout the day which included memorable portraits through a unique event themed ‘Photobooth’ as well as extensive arts activities that have been designed for families.

In addition, on the 29th and 30th December, activities and a series of competitions were held to appeal to families, children including arts and crafts, face painting, musical statues, competitions and giveaways as well as pony rides. Nermeen Bishady, Al Kout’s Marketing Manager, expressed her sincere happiness with the successful rollout of the event in its 4th year running, especially with large turnout of visitors – from families, and children in different age groups, assuring that Al Kout is the prime and ideal destination for families to enjoy different occasions.
