Kuwaiti gymnastics team earns four medals at Mediterranean Union Championship.

TUNIS, Dec 14, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti rhythmic gymnastics team achieved impressive success at the Mediterranean Union Championship held in Tunis, securing four medals in various events.

Nabila Al-Khrafi claimed the gold medal in the ball performance competition, while her teammate Sarah Al-Bannai earned the silver in the hoop event. Layan Behbahani brought home the bronze in the club event, and Raya Al-Qassar secured another bronze in the ribbon event.

Fahad Al-Sawlah, President of the Arab and Kuwaiti Gymnastics Federations, expressed his immense satisfaction with this achievement, highlighting the progress of rhythmic gymnastics in Kuwait. In a statement to KUNA, Al-Sawlah emphasized that these results were the product of the athletes’ dedication and the efforts of the coaching staff, led by Ukrainian coaches Irina Kovaltchuk and Victoria Fesiouk, who meticulously prepared the team.

He also acknowledged the continuous support from the Kuwaiti Gymnastics Federation’s Board of Directors, the General Authority for Sports, and the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee, which provided the necessary conditions for success and helped the team overcome challenges.

Al-Sawlah congratulated the athletes on their outstanding achievements, noting that they succeeded “despite tough competition from both European and Arab teams with extensive experience in this sport.

The boy's team departed yesterday morning for Tunisia to compete in the Mediterranean Championship, which will be held in the Tunisian capital until December 19.

The team includes four athletes—Musa Al-Sahaf, Saud Al-Radini, Ali Abdulhadi, and Khaled Al-Dhaham—alongside administrator Muhammad Ali Al-Daihani, supervisor Khalid Al-Madhen, referees Salah Askar and Badr Hassan, and Ukrainian coach Vitaly Arsenev.

The team kicks off its participation today in this prestigious event, aiming to make a strong impression and secure achievements that will add to the legacy of Kuwaiti gymnastics.
