KUWAIT CITY, March 17: Abdullah Al-Shalahi, coach of Al-Jahra, has tendered his resignation, relinquishing all remaining dues accrued since his appointment last December.

In a statement on his personal social media platform, Al-Shalahi expressed his commitment to preserving team unity and trust amid challenging circumstances. He cited the formation of a committee by the General Sports Authority to address club issues as a catalyst for his decision to resign, stating, “I have completed my mission.” Additionally, he announced his decision to waive all earnings accumulated during his tenure.

Contrarily, Al-Jahra Football Staff have rejected Al-Shalahi’s resignation, asserting their need for his expertise in leading the technical team forward. They remain optimistic about a positive turnaround, particularly as the team navigates the relegation group of the Zain League.

Al-Jahra currently sits at the bottom of the Zain Premier League standings, with just 8 points. In the relegation group, they will vie against Kazma (20 points), Al-Shabab (14 points), and Khaitan (12 points) for retention in the Premier League next season, with only two spots available.
