KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: Despite efforts to dissolve the National Assembly and suspend the Constitution, Parliament Speaker of Marzouq Al-Ghanim is confident that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Al-Sabah is keen on seeing the current Assembly complete its four-year term. He said foreign influences are continuously working to destabilize Kuwaiti politics by aggravating the Assembly and distancing the public from democracy.

They are currently attempting to use the cancellation of the parliamentary membership of Waleed Al-Tabtabaei and Jam’an Al-Harbash as a springboard for the new Arab spring, he disclosed. The Speaker affirmed there is nothing suspicious about the process as everything was executed in accordance with the Constitution and the law.

It was an application of institutional governance, not a matter of individual diligence. Rumor has it that an interpellation request against HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will be submitted soon, but it must be challenged as it is aimed at inciting political chaos, he added.
