KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Al-Fahaheel Sports Club has submitted an official letter to the Kuwait Handball Association objecting to the recent decision allowing three professional players per team for the upcoming 2025-2026 handball season, with two allowed on the court simultaneously and the third available as a substitute.
The club specifically contested a clause in the minutes of the Competitions Committee Meeting No. 1-2025, which approved increasing the number of foreign players but failed to clearly outline the distribution of active and bench players.
In its statement, Al-Fahaheel argued that Meeting No. 5-2025 of the Association’s Board of Directors—during which the decision was reportedly finalized—was held without the presence of the KHA President or Vice President. As a result, the club claims the meeting did not meet the required quorum under Article 32-3 of the Association’s bylaws, rendering its decisions legally invalid.
Al-Fahaheel is now calling on FHA to review and clarify the regulation by proper legal procedures and organizational transparency.
