KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: Kuwait Club's volleyball team has strengthened its roster by enlisting Burgan Center player Saud Al-Duwaisan to bolster its squad for the upcoming Asian Clubs Championship, set to take place in Yazd, Iran, from September 8-15.

The tournament draw placed Kuwait Club in Group A alongside Iranian club Shahdab Yazd. Group B features Japanese club Nagoya, Iraqi club Gas South, and Chinese club Badong Wuli. Group C includes Indonesian club Jakarta, Kazakh club Pavoir, and Tai Chong from Chinese Taipei, while Group D comprises Qatari club Al-Rayyan, Afghan club Kam, and Iranian club Foolad Sirjan.

To prepare for the championship, the "Sons of Kaifan" will hold an external training camp in Turkey from August 25 to September 6, after which it will head directly to Iran. Kuwait Club has also renewed the contract of coach Atik and signed Brazilian player Ferreira, Cuban player Ramos, and former Al-Arabi player Hussein Al-Masry.

Musleh Al-Rashidi, the Volleyball Director at Kuwait Club, stated that the team has begun its local preparation phase to get players physically and technically ready after the long break since last season. The Turkish camp will focus on tactical preparations, including several friendly matches. Al-Rashidi emphasized the significance of participating in the Asian Championship before the new season starts on September 15.

Al-Rashidi expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Club, Khaled Al-Ghanim, for his unwavering support of the team, ensuring its readiness for this prestigious Asian event. He also thanked the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Burgan Club, Anwar Al-Otaibi, and Burgan Secretary Nawaf Al-Adwani for their cooperation in facilitating Al-Duwaisan's participation with the team" in the Asian Championship.
