Al-Babtain Acknowledged with Honors by Yerevan University

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19: A delegation from Yerevan Armenian State University honored the head of the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, the poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, by granting him an honorary doctorate, reports Al-Seyassah daily

Expressing his gratitude, poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain said in a press statement, “To be honored by Yerevan University in my homeland holds great significance for me. I will cherish this honor with immense pride. It’s more than just a certificate to adorn my collection; it’s a reminder that a person’s life is defined by their capacity to give without expecting anything in return.”

He emphasized the value of service to communities, particularly in vital domains such as education, culture, and aiding humanity, urging individuals to partake in humanitarian and cultural endeavors and encouraging institutions to contribute as well.

He highlighted that these honors, including the recent one, are a tribute to Kuwait, a nation that has taken a pioneering role in humanitarian efforts globally. The recognition is a testament to the Kuwaiti people and all intellectuals, writers, thinkers, poets, and proponents of a just peace in the world.

The delegation from Yerevan University paid a visit to the poet and honored him by acknowledging his poetry collection, an unprecedented gesture reflecting their appreciation and pride in his significant and influential role across cultural, social, and humanitarian spheres, both within the Arab world and internationally.

The delegation comprised the University President, Dr. Hovhannis Hovhannisyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Dr. Robin Melkonyan, the Head of the Chair of Arab Studies at the Faculty, Dr. Hayk Kocharyan, and members of the Scientific Council, Dr. Vahi Hakobyan and Dr. Mikael Hovhannisyan. Al-Babtain was recognized for his consistent support of charitable, cultural, and humanitarian causes, along with his endeavors in advancing the global peace agenda. The acknowledgment also encompassed his collaborative and impactful engagement with the university.
