KUWAIT CITY, Sept 2: Al-Arabi has finalized its roster of foreign players by signing Mauritanian midfielder Abdullah Mahmoud. Mahmoud, who will join the Nigerian Anabo Ayewala, Algerians Ahmed Khaldi and Sofiane Bouchar, and Moroccan Hamza Khaba, brings additional depth to the team. The 23-year-old Mahmoud previously played professionally with Spanish club Deportivo Alaves in 2020. He missed the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire earlier this year due to a double fracture in his left arm sustained during a pre-tournament friendly against Tunisia.

This signing follows Al-Arabi’s decision to part ways with Brazilian player Carlos Alberto "Jaco" and Egyptian Abdel-Rahman Khaled "Jebna" due to their unsatisfactory performance, leading to their departure from the team within a week. Meanwhile, Al-Arabi continues its rigorous training schedule under the guidance of national coach Nasser Al-Shatti. Additionally, Ahmed Al-Shawaf, the goalkeeper from the under-17 team, has rejoined training after a hiatus due to academic commitments.
