KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Salmiya has mutually agreed to terminate the contract of Libyan professional Al-Senousi Al-Hadi ahead of the new season. Family circumstances prevented Al-Senousi from continuing with the club, and he is now set to join Libyan side Ittihad Tripoli.
Salmiya has opened talks with Jordanian players Muhannad Samrin and Ahmed Arsan to fill the gap left by Al-Senousi. Samrin (23) plays for Al-Wehdat, while Arsan played for Kazma and currently represents Al-Faisaly in Jordan.
Al-Arabi has ended the contract of Ugandan forward Kenneth Simakula due to underwhelming performances and signed Moroccan defender Nabil Marmouk (26) as his replacement. Marmouk brings experience from Saudi club Abha, Moroccan side FUS Rabat, Cypriot club Anorthosis, and Wydad Casablanca.
Al-Arabi also retains Nigerian players Anayo Iwuala and Christopher Joe, Frenchman Hassimi Fadiga, and Belgian Julien Ngoy. Further changes are possible as the team seeks additional defensive and midfield reinforcements.
In pre-season action, Al-Arabi drew 1-1 with UAE side Al-Arabi in Dubai, with Bader Tariq scoring. The team had previously beaten Dubai City 2-1 and will face Shabab Al-Ahli in its final friendly.
Qadsia is preparing a backup plan if the deal for Libyan striker Hamdo Al-Houni falls through or if Moroccan Mehdi Barhama remains with the team. The club has reportedly entered negotiations with Defense Jdid striker Khaled Baba.
Qadsia’s current roster includes Egyptian Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba,” Libyan Mohamed Sula, Algerian Sofiane Bouchare, and Moroccan Mehdi Barhama. While Al-Houni signed a preliminary agreement with Qadsia, his current club, Ahli Tripoli, seeks to retain him.
