KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: Officials of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy held a preparatory meeting to discuss the observations of the Audit Bureau regarding the Ministry’s final account, contained in the annual report, on the results of the examination and review of the implementation of the budget of ministries and government departments, for fiscal 2022-2023.

Informed sources in the Ministry said the officials in the Ministry of Electricity are ready to discuss with members of the Parliamentary Budgets Committee the violations, especially financial ones.

The sources stated that the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Jassim Al-Ostad, is in the process of forming an investigation committee to examine and discuss the financial violations that the Audit Bureau commented on in its latest report.

In a separate context, the sources explained that work is underway to evacuate 4 warehouses belonging to the Ministry in the Sabhan area, which the Ministry of Health exploited during the “Corona” pandemic and stored medical materials there. It indicated that 6 warehouses belonging to the Ministry were used as warehouses during that period, of which it received two warehouses, and coordination is underway to receive the remaining four warehouses. The sources stated that MEW had previously contacted the Health Ministry to evacuate them so that these warehouses could be reused by Electricity Ministry noting that work is underway to evacuate them.
