KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, affirmed on Sunday that universities and higher education institutions in Kuwait play a pivotal role in advancing the country’s national development strategy, Kuwait Vision 2035, by fostering scientific research, innovation, and the development of skilled national talent.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, Dr. Al-Jalal stated that the Ministry is actively working to strengthen partnerships with various sectors to better align educational outputs with labor market demands and to enhance the institutions' societal contributions.
The Minister emphasized that aligning academic specializations with employment needs, raising the quality of educational outcomes, and providing a dynamic and supportive learning environment are top priorities for the Ministry. These measures aim to empower both students and faculty to contribute effectively to the country’s comprehensive development efforts.
Dr. Al-Jalal noted that the Ministry continues to implement strategic plans aimed at advancing higher education. These include the modernization of academic curricula, the expansion of scientific research programs, the promotion of digital transformation in educational services, and increased international cooperation to enhance students' academic experiences.
He expressed his appreciation to the leadership of academic institutions for their continued dedication to meeting the needs of students and ensuring the smooth commencement of the academic year. Their efforts, he said, help create a comprehensive and supportive educational environment.
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Jalal congratulated students, faculty members, and administrative staff on the beginning of the new academic year. He encouraged students to approach their studies with seriousness and commitment, to uphold national and moral values, and to make the most of the opportunities provided by university education.
“The future of Kuwait,” he stressed, “is built by your minds, creativity, and contributions.”
