KUWAIT CITY, July 15: Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, Bashar Abdullah, expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for his unwavering support and care for athletes.

This was conveyed during his presentation of the princely honors for the His Highness the Amir Cup Championship to representatives of Al-Qadisiya (the defending champion), Al-Salmiya (the runner-up), and Al-Arabi and Al-Tadamon (the third-placed clubs) for the 2023-2024 sports season. The ceremony was attended by Salah Al-Qenaei, the Secretary-General of the Kuwait Football Association.

Bashar Abdullah emphasized that the Authority is committed to implementing the directives of His Highness the Amir by supporting young athletes at both local and international levels to elevate Kuwait’s standing in global sports arenas and properly qualify the athletes.

He stated, "His Highness the Amir's honoring of the first-place winners of His Highness's Cup is an incentive for all players to exert more effort and dedication to achieve achievements and victories."

Bashar Abdullah also conveyed the greetings of Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood, and Family Affairs, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, who affirmed her support for all athletes and the implementation of the General Sports Authority's strategy to develop sports in the coming period, based on the aspirations of the political leadership.
