Abandoned cars impounded

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: The General Cleanliness and Road Works Department of the Farwaniya Municipality branch organized a cleanliness campaign in Rabiya, Andalus, Farwaniya and Khaitan and lifted 59 ‘abandoned’ cars and heavy equipment, reports Al-Rai daily. A statement issued by the Municipality said the campaign was organized upon instruction of the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Shaya Al-Shaya, and the Director General of the Municipality, Engineer Ahmad Al-Manfouhi to clear what he called ‘abandoned’ cars and heavy equipment parked on open grounds. The Director of the General Cleanliness and Road Works Department of the Farwaniya Municipality Branch, Saad Al-Khurainej, stated open areas will be protected by ‘earth mounds’ to prevent motorists from parking cars and heavy equipment. Al- Khurainej said such field tours will continue in all areas of the governorate.
