KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The partial curfew which has been imposed by the Council of Ministers which is 16 hours a day (from 4 pm to 8 am) recently and before about 12 hours, has had a positive effect on the number of traffic violations, whether direct or indirect.

The rate of traffic accidents have reduced considerably and what has been recorded last April is very low compared to the same period for the past three years in terms of accidents and casualties.

The security sources said the partial curfew has played an important role in this decline. The source stated the monthly rates of traffic violations — directly and indirect — exceed 50,000 in most cases, but during the month of April it recorded about 10,000, and with regard to traffic accidents, the monthly rate reaches 6 thousand accidents while in the month of April it did not record more than 1,000, and most did not result in deaths.
