KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: Kuwait Oil Company has invited seven international companies to submit their financial offers to implement the new seismic survey contract for discovering the potentials of West Kuwait and Mutriba in terms of oil and gas reserves, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to informed sources, the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) recently proposed the contract and set January 4, 2021 as the deadline for closure, provided that a preliminary meeting with the contractors will be held on December 7 followed by a tour of the site for the contractors on December 14. The companies invited to participate are Western Geco, Global Geophysical Company, GEOKINETICS Services Company, SAE Exploration and Global Sinopec, China BGB and Arab Geophysics Company.

The three-dimensional seismic surveys of the West Kuwait region and Mutriba will be launched next year, as part of the implementation of the oil sector strategy. These surveys will give very important data about this area to depths of up to 25,000 feet underground, which is characterized by accuracy, depth and area. The Kuwait Oil Company has set very ambitious targets for the exploration group as part of its oil sector strategy.

The company searches for oil and light gas in the Jurassic and Permian eras and deals with unconventional reservoirs with an increased risk of drilling due to high temperatures, pressures and carbon complexities. As part of its relentless efforts to confront everything that poses a threat to the various sectors of the society and economy in Kuwait, KOC recently organized the Third Annual Gartner Cybersecurity Forum, despite the exceptional circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, titled “Synergy of Cybersecurity Efforts with a Journey of Digital Transformation,” was held for one day under the patronage and the presence of the Executive Vice-President for Planning and Financial Affairs in the company Bader Al-Attar, and in the presence of many company and oil sector officials, as well as a group of local, regional and global experts and interested parties. It was held by means of video communication technology.

Despite the difficult conditions and challenges facing various countries around the world, the company insisted on holding the forum this year and for the third year in a row, due to its awareness of its increasing importance, as digital communication has become more used this year than ever before, which contributed to its transformation into a basic pillar for various sectors.

Hence, it was necessary to secure protection for all institutional and individual users, which is what the company will gather in this event on the one hand of experts and specialists from the specialized global Gartner Foundation and other institutions, and on the other hand, participants will talk about successful experiences in their institutions that have adopted the best means of electronic protection as well as doing business over communication networks.
