NEW DELHI, July 22, (Xinhua): Four college students were among six people who died in two separate road accidents in India's northern state of Punjab, confirmed a cop on Tuesday. In the first mishap reported from Punjab's Bathinda district, a car carrying four college students rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
All four students died at the scene. According to the police, the car's tyre burst, resulting in its imbalance. Being driven at high speed, it jumped the road divider and collided head-on with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
In a separate road accident, reported from the Hoshiarpur district's Mukerian area, two persons died as their car hit a police post. The car was moving at high speed from the Jammu region towards Punjab's capital city of Chandigarh when it met with the accident, said a cop.
