54,844 traffic violations and 68 juvenile referrals in 8 days

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: The General Traffic Department and the General Rescue Police Department reported a total of 54,844 traffic violations recorded over 8 days and the referral of 68 juveniles to the Public Prosecution.

According to statistics from the General Traffic Department covering the period from September 7 to September 13, authorities impounded 111 vehicles and 31 motorcycles. Additionally, 66 vehicles were seized in connection with ongoing cases. The department also apprehended 13 individuals wanted by law, detained four individuals without proof of identification, and arrested one person in an abnormal condition. Three individuals were referred to the General Department for Combating Narcotics for possessing substances suspected to be narcotics.

The Operations Department reported receiving 3,252 reports and documenting 1,480 traffic accidents during the same period.

From September 8 to September 14, the General Department of Emergency Police arrested 203 wanted persons and recovered 155 wanted vehicles. They also detained 103 individuals without proof of identification, 33 in a state of drunkenness, and 8 others found in possession of materials suspected to be alcoholic beverages.
