KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has received requests from five domestic workers recruiting offices to cancel their licenses for unknown reasons, reports Al-Qabas daily. Meanwhile, statistics issued by Recruitment of Domestic Workers Department at PAM said last October 27 complaints were filed by sponsors against domestic workers and 152 domestic workers had filed complaints against their employers.

The PAM administration referred 52 labor complaints to the judiciary and of the other 218 complaints 65 were related to holding travel documents by the employer, 29 complaints filed by employers against workers and 124 complaints were resolved amicably between the parties. The PAM administration has collected 10,635 dinars from employers in favor of the workers and suspended the license of one office citing violation PAM laws and regulations. Of the 420 domestic labor recruitment offices, the PAM administration said, only 41 have so far renewed their licenses.
