KUWAIT CITY, July 1: Director of Supplies and Stores Department at the Ministry of Education Matrouk Al-Mutairi disclosed that 4,400 school furniture were stored in the ministry’s warehouses in Sabhan to complement the items stored over the past weeks as part of preparations for the next academic year, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In his statement to the daily, Al-Mutairi affirmed the ministry is exerting tremendous efforts these days to match the accomplishments in previous periods by following up contracts and tenders, as well as providing all the needs of the schools. In the past weeks and during the curfew periods, the department procured large quantities of furniture for schools and various devices such as cameras and different kindergarten and common requirements within the context of preparing the necessary equipment at the beginning of the next school year.

He confirmed that since the decision to suspend work in ministries and agencies on March 12 because of the corona pandemic, the department has been working hard and this led to the formation of teams tasked to follow up urgent and important work procedures to ensure there is no delay or cancellation. He added the ministry is keen on completing procedures related to tenders and contracts, in coordination with the beneficiaries and supervisory authorities
