KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance road safety, curb violations, and uphold traffic discipline, the General Traffic Department—represented by the Technical Inspection and Security Control Departments—conducted an extensive inspection campaign targeting industrial workshops in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area on Tuesday, October 21.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Kuwait Municipality, and attended by Brigadier Bader Ghazi Al-Qattan, Assistant Director-General of the General Traffic Department for Traffic Regulation Affairs.

During the campaign, 55 various traffic violations were recorded. Authorities also arrested 23 individuals in violation of residency laws, against whom legal procedures were initiated in preparation for deportation.

In addition, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued seven citations to workshops found operating in breach of commercial and regulatory requirements. The Kuwait Municipality recorded eight additional citations for the illegal use and exploitation of public spaces.

The General Traffic Department emphasized that these joint inspection campaigns reflect the Ministry of Interior’s firm commitment to maintaining public order, ensuring road safety, and addressing all forms of legal violations in cooperation with relevant authorities. The ministry affirmed that similar operations will continue across various areas of the country to guarantee full compliance with laws and regulations.
