225 die in traffic accidents over 8 months this year

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: Security sources said that 225 Kuwaitis and residents died, while more than 4,500 others were injured in about 40,000 traffic accidents that occurred from the beginning of this year until mid-September, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The sources added the GTD recorded about 3.5 million traffic violations during that period which led to the deportation of 120 expatriates, the majority of whom were caught driving vehicles without licenses, and some of them committed several serious violations that endangered their lives and the lives of road users. .

The same sources pointed out that there were more than 35,000 collision accidents, about 230 overturning accidents, 450 run-over accidents, and 140 hit-and-run accidents.

The sources pointed out that rescue and traffic personnel were able to arrest dozens of reckless people, during their dealings with thousands of reports received about reckless acts in the open areas, internal and secondary roads and some main roads.
