KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The Criminal Court has sentenced a man to a total of 22 years in prison with hard labor for beating his wife to death in Omariya, consuming drugs and destroying police vehicles. Case files indicate that the court sentenced the man to 10 years in prison on the charges of battery without intent to kill and deprive the victim of her freedom. It also sentenced him to 10 years in prison for consuming hashish and psychotropic substances and two years for damaging police vehicles in his attempt to evade arrest. It has been reported that Omariya witnessed the heinous murder of a 25-year-old Iraqi woman; as her husband, a 30-year-old Bedoun, brutally beat her up until she died. He dumped her body in front of Farwaniya Hospital and fled. The detectives arrested him after a marathon chase from the Jahra stables to Farwaniya, during which he damaged three police vehicles.
