200 companies violate ‘noon work’ rule

KUWAIT CITY, July 20: The head of the Occupational Safety Follow-up Department and the head of the mid-day inspection team at the Public Authority for Manpower, Abdel Mohsen Al- Munayes, announced 200 companies and 350 workers violated the decision to prevent work at noon (between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm) from the beginning of May until July 19, 2020, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Munayes pointed during the tour of West Abdullah Al Mubarak yesterday 12 workers were caught. In a press statement Al-Munayes pointed out some workers are afraid of the employer and those who are caught violating the law first time are given a written warning and the sector re-inspect the site again after 24 hours and if the violation is repeated a citation is issued against the employee. In such cases, the source stressed the company file will be suspended and the issue will be referred to a court.
