SEOUL, Aug 17, (Xinhua): Two people were killed and 13 others were injured on Sunday in South Korea's apartment fire, according to Yonhap news agency. The fire broke out at the 20-story apartment building in Seoul at about 8:10 a.m. local time (2310 GMT Saturday).
A man in his 20s died at the scene, while his mother in her 60s was taken to the hospital after receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but died. One person was seriously wounded and 12 others suffered minor injuries.
Evacuated were 89 residents living in the apartment. The fire started from a household on the 14th floor, where no sprinklers were installed. The authorities were investigating the exact cause of the accident.
