MoH launches 4th mobile vaccination phase
KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday said that 1,962 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours, taking the caseload to 342,929. The number of total recoveries rose to 322,897 after confirming 1,604 in the same period, the Ministry said in a statement on Twitter. The death toll from the virus climbed to 1,888 after registering 11 mortalities in the corresponding period, it stated. It noted that 18,144 patients are hospitalized, in addition to 238 cases at intensive care units. Medical swabs conducted in 24 hours hit 13,869, bringing the total to 2.864 million, it stated, indicating that the ratio between recoveries to swabs is 14.15 percent today. The ministry renewed its call for both citizens and residents to abide by health precautions and physical distancing, as well as avoid gatherings. It further urged the public to follow up official accounts of the ministry and the state’s bodies to be briefed on guidelines and recommendations in order to control the spread of the virus.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health announced on Monday launch of the fourth phase of mobile vaccinations for consumer services personnel, workers of fuel stations, security companies, guards and workers in the public transportation. Dr. Dina Al-Bbaib, the director of the central department for primary health care and head of the mobile vaccination unit, said in a statement that the ministry has also begun adminstering the first jab to house workers. Moreover, the ministry had launched the registration platform for breastfeeding mothers, the pregant and other females desiring to be vaccinated
