KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: Recent statistics issued by the Ministry of Justice revealed that 181,298 new criminal cases were registered in the Court of First Instance, from January 1 to August 20, 2023, reports Al-Qabas daily. The statistics, of which the daily has obtained a copy, indicated that the number of criminal cases amounted to 2077, and state security felonies 26 felonies, in addition to 8065 misdemeanors, 789 information technology cases and 4470 municipal violations misdemeanors, while domestic violence cases registered in the mentioned period amounted to 723 cases.

The sources added that commercial misdemeanors amounted to 3,529, traffic criminal orders 2,959, environmental misdemeanors 3,069, check misdemeanors 1,172, juvenile misdemeanors 1,308, and affairs misdemeanors amounted to 1,594. Moreover, the number of registered grievances amounted to 446, and absenteeism misdemeanors amounted to 105, in addition to the registration of 4866 passport misdemeanors, 42 fisheries misdemeanors, and 4115 traffic misdemeanors.
