 KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The General Department of Residence Affairs arrested 15 expats accompanied by children from various parts of Kuwait. Based on the directives of the Undersecretary of the MOI. Lt. Gen. Anwar Al Barjas to eliminate begging phenomena in Kuwait, a campaign which resulted in the arrest of 15 expats namely Jordanians, Syrians and Sri lankans accompanied by children.


Legal measures have been taken against arrested persons, a case of negligence of minors care has been registered against them and were referred to the competent authority to take legal measures. Sponsors of these expats who were begging were also summoned to take legal measures against them.

The MOI is taking all efforts to combat this phenomena and to eliminate this it requires cooperation from Kuwaitis and expats by calling emergency phone 112
