Two were convicted, and others were acquitted in a case related to ISIS involvement in Syria and Yemen.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: In a recent ruling, the Criminal Court has handed down sentences in a case involving individuals accused of joining ISIS in Syria and Yemen, along with charges of financing the terrorist organization.

The court sentenced a male and a Syrian citizen to 10 years in prison, imposing a fine of a thousand dinars. Additionally, the Syrian citizen received an additional 7-year prison term. However, the court refrained from imposing any punishment on a male and a female citizen who were also facing charges related to their alleged involvement with ISIS.

In a decisive move, the court ordered the deportation of the Syrian individual from the country after the completion of the prescribed sentence. The charges encompassed activities related to ISIS, including participation in the organization's operations in Syria and Yemen, as well as financial support for its activities.
