Municipality workers loading the half-lorry with seized goods put for sale at the makeshift market

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Officials of Farwaniya Municipality’s Department of Public Hygiene and Road Usage held an inspection campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area during which they issued 16 citations and seized ten half-lorries, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Acting Director of Farwaniya Municipality Saud Al-Harbi explained that all departments of Farwaniya Municipality go on field inspection campaigns to remove obstructing structures and those that are detrimental to public hygiene.

The items seized in the latest campaign included six half-lorryloads of fruits, vegetables and other food items. Two half-lorries contained used clothes and electrical appliances, which have been dumped at the municipality incinerator.

Six street hawkers were issued citations and referred to the concerned authority for legal procedures, and ten citations for violations related to public hygiene were issued.
