KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: Ten Kuwaiti government entities have launched a joint national back-to-school campaign under the slogan “Our Students Are a Nation’s Treasure,” coinciding with the start of the new academic year on Sunday, the Ministry of Education announced.

The initiative, part of the Ministry’s broader "Back to School" campaign, aims to strengthen national coordination and unify governmental efforts to protect students and foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Ministry said the campaign brings together the Ministries of Interior, Information, Health, and Social Affairs, alongside the General Fire Force, the Juvenile Prosecution, the Government Communication Center, the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the Public Authority for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities.

The initiative is framed within national efforts to protect future generations from security, behavioral, and legal risks, while promoting values of citizenship, belonging, and social responsibility, the statement noted.

The campaign seeks to raise students' awareness of safety, legal, and educational matters and instill positive behavioral values, contributing to the reduction of negative behaviors and the creation of a secure educational atmosphere.

It also focuses on enhancing students’ general and psychological well-being by equipping them with essential safety and prevention skills. These include fire safety awareness, safe handling of electrical appliances, and the development of inclusive environments that provide students with disabilities the necessary support for academic success and peer integration.

According to the participating agencies, the campaign’s themes span various critical topics, including traffic safety, school violence prevention, tolerance, safe digital behavior, drug and psychotropic substance prevention, child protection and rights awareness, as well as reinforcement of behavioral and educational values.

The campaign targets students in public, private, and special education schools, in addition to parents, educators, and administrative staff — ensuring broad-based community awareness and engagement across the educational spectrum.

Planned activities include public awareness campaigns via traditional and digital media platforms, school lectures, and on-site field events across multiple educational levels and institutions, both public and private.

The Ministry emphasized that the campaign reflects the unification of national efforts to safeguard students against behavioral and security threats, while strengthening national identity and legal awareness. It described the initiative as a vital step in preparing a well-balanced generation capable of contributing meaningfully to Kuwait’s future development.

The participating agencies extended their appreciation to Zain Telecommunications Company and Kuwait Finance House for their support and sponsorship. Their involvement, the statement said, reflects the strong partnership between the public and private sectors and reinforces the principle of corporate social responsibility in supporting students and safeguarding future generations.

This campaign aligns with the broader goals of the New Kuwait 2035 vision and represents a model of collaborative national action, the statement concluded.
