Winners celebrate on podium during the GulfRun Karting Endurance Race awarding ceremony.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, awarded the winners of GulfRun Karting Endurance Race — 24 hours category. The awarding came as part of Zain’s strategic partnership of the 12th edition of GulfRun, the region’s most anticipated motorsport activity.

Zain’s support of this exciting event over the years stems from the company’s Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility strategy towards the youth and sports sectors. The event is organized by a group of Kuwaiti youth, and has received overwhelming feedback during the past years.

GulfRun involved a Karting Endurance race, which was held at Kuwait’s SIRBB Circuit over a continuous period of 24 hours. The activity witnessed tremendous success, gathering many enthusiasts of this sport alongside the public. Zain awarded CER Karting/Burgan Agri Co for winning the first place title, as well as awarding the winners of the second and third place titles.

GulfRun kick-started last weekend, and will continue until February 2017, involving several thrilling activities taking place in Kuwait and Bahrain. Alongside the Karting Endurance Race, the event will also include an exciting car show at 360 Mall, where participants will be showcasing their exquisite high-speed sports cars to thrill seeking individuals. Following the car show event, participants will be flying over to the Kingdom of Bahrain to take part in several training procedures in preparation for the final race at the Bahrain International Circuit. Participants will be able to gain valuable insights with the help of qualified trainers and professional instructors who have a long-track of motorsport experience.

It is worth mentioning that GulfRun is an annual motorsport event which was established in 2005 by a group of Kuwaiti youth who are simply passionate about automobile racing. The event extinguishes itself from any other motorsport activity by promoting a safe and secure environment to race and train, as well as spreading awareness to limit street accidents.
