KUWAIT CITY, Jan 2: The Hawally police have arrested an unidentified young man for bootlegging, reports Al-Anba daily. The suspect, who tried in vain to evade arrest by speeding, was caught in Jabriya.Police have seized from him 57 bottles of imported booze. In another unrelated incident, the Farwaniya police have arrested an unidentified Asian bootlegger, and seized from him 90 bottles of home-made booze. He was caught in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh.Meanwhile, Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an Indian to smuggle eight kilos of marijuana, reports Al-Anba daily. During interrogation the ‘carrier’ denied knowledge of the drugs and said he ‘someone’ was supposed to collect it from him. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
