‘Workflow smooth in Labor departments after Eid break’; ‘Fodder prices slashed’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The directors of labor departments of all governorates have affirmed that the work flow in the labor departments is continuing smoothly, about 80 percent of the transactions have been completed and there was no congestion in the departments after the Eid holidays. They said none of the transactions in their departments were stuck but they stressed the need for more employees in order to achieve a higher rate of transaction completion compared to the current rate. They indicated that they hope the online service portal will become fully operational soon which will enable clients to complete most of their transactions online and save them from the trouble of visiting the labor departments in person, unless they face problems with the online portal.

Fodder prices cut: Kuwait Flour Mills has announced that the prices of fodder (corn, barley and mix) will be reduced from Oct 1, 2015. In a press release, the company said the unsubsidized selling price for a 50 kilogram bag of barley will be KD 4.200 instead of KD 4.450, KD 3.950 instead of KD 4.440 for a bag of corn and KD 3.445 instead of KD 3.570 for a bag of mix feed. The subsidized price, based on the decision of Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), for a 50 kilogram bag of barley will be KD 3.300 instead of KD 3.550, KD 3.250 instead of KD 3.700 for a bag of corn, KD 2.645 instead of KD 2.770 for a bag of mix feed and KD 3.300 instead of KD 3.500 for a bag of Shewar. The company stated that the reduced prices in the local market are because the international prices of barley and corn have been reduced.

Draw conducted: Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has drawn lots for the ninth batch of 323 government plots each measuring 400 square/meters at district (N9) of South Mitla’, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a statement, reliable sources said the priority is given to beneficiaries who received allocation before Oct 12, 2002, adding the distribution of cards to enter the draw started on Thursday and will continue until Sunday, while the distribution of substitute cards will take place Monday followed by the draw on Wednesday, Oct 7th. Sources indicated South Mitla’ a project covers 30,400 residential units-each on 400 square/meters, along with basic services and public facilities such as schools, medical centers, fire centers, co-op societies and mosques.
