Work on stranded maids as dishes pile up

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: State Minister for Services and National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Haris recently met the concerned officials at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to discuss the plan for the return of domestic workers from the 34 banned countries, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a reliable source. According to the source, the minister was briefed on the salient points of DGCA’s plan, which includes the return of workers in batches and that the plan will be implemented immediately after obtaining approval from the Council of Ministers.

Asked about the date of the workers’ return, the source revealed the date has yet to be specified as the decision lies in the hands of the Council of Ministers. The source added that quarantine is mandatory for returning domestic workers – either in hotels or the designated quarantine centers, but nothing has been finalized so far as this is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health.
