KUWAIT CITY, April 25: A 41-yearold Egyptian woman tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene on her body and setting fire to herself inside the bathroom, reports Al-Anba daily. The woman is now confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Al-Babtain Hospital as she sustained second-degree burns on 80 percent of her body while her respiratory system was damaged. Criminal Evidence Department officers will soon be dispatched to the woman’s house to conduct investigations. On the other hand, the woman’s husband filed a report on the suicide attempt at Khaitan Police Station. He said that after discussing with his wife the possibility of transferring her residence from dependent to the public sector, she went to the kitchen and then to the bathroom where she tried to kill herself.

Drugs with cross-dresser: The Hawalli police have arrested a cross-dresser and a female companion for possessing and consuming narcotics, reports Al-Rai daily. The suspects were caught in Nugra. Police saw the duo seated in the car in a suspicious manner and after they approached the car they discovered both persons looked abnormal. Police have seized from the car 19 drug pills. The suspects and the contraband have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
