KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The Ministry of Public Works said it is refusing to amend the status of some employees who while on duty have obtained new graduation certificates, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the refusal comes following the issue of forged educational certificates.
The source added, however the ministry accepts certificates which have been cleared by the concerned government departments based on the criteria set up by the Ministry and after obtaining the approval of the Civil Service Commission.
The source explained the ministry has issued a circular in this respect upon instructions from the Civil Service Commission. The source pointed out the ministry has received requests from many employees who hold higher degrees and with notice to modify their status.
In the meantime, the Ministry is in the process of forming a committee to examine these requests and also to run a check on the certificates which the ministry deems fake but carry the accreditation stamp.
